PMO Lead and Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Hybrid PMO Lead and Project Manager to join our transformative team. This dynamic role combines PMO leadership with hands-on Project Management responsibilities, ensuring the successful governance and delivery of key transformation initiatives. You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping our transformation strategy while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external clients to deliver impactful solutions.

Key responsibilities

PMO Management:

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks and processes.
  • Oversee programme plans, including milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Optimize resource allocation and manage capacity planning.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate programme risks/issues.
  • Monitor and report programme performance using standardized templates and tools.

Project Management:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of projects within the transformation programme.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, forecasts, and dependencies.
  • Track and report on project milestones, KPIs, and financials.
  • Drive change management initiatives to promote adoption and continuous improvement.

Key Deliverables:

  • Comprehensive programme status reports, governance packs, and dashboards.
  • Effective programme plans with milestones and risk/issue logs.
  • Resource capacity plans and benefits realisation tracking.

Candidate requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent certifications (preferred).

Professional Experience:

  • 5-8 years in Project Management and PMO leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.

Core Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and alignment with business objectives.
  • Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills for metrics and performance analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder engagement.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Additional Attributes:

  • Proven success managing hybrid teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with transformation/change initiatives (digital, operational, organizational).
  • A proactive, collaborative, and results-driven mindset.
